Mabamba swamp Excursion / Shoebill & Bird watching (Half-day tour)

The Mabamba Swamp is the most popular birding site in Uganda to observe the rare Shoebill stork which is the most sought-after bird in Uganda. The 25 square kilometer large and extensive wetland is located along the northern shores of Lake Victoria, near Entebbe town. The marsh stretches through a narrow and long bay that is fringed with papyrus towards the main body of Lake Victoria. The Mabamba Swamp offers the best chances of seeing this majestic bird. The large bird with its prehistoric look fascinates many bird lovers. These solitary birds with the massive shoebill stork can grow up to 150 cm and weigh up to 14 pounds.
The wetland is also home to over 300 other bird species, which can be seen during this tour, either in the early morning or late afternoon. Such birds include: African Pigmy Goose, Black Crake, Black Heron, Black-crowned Night Heron, Black-crowned Waxbill, Black-headed Heron, Black-winged Stilt, Pied Wagtail, African Firefinch, African Fish Eagle, African Green Pigeon, Pink-backed Pelican among others. Mabamba also hosts flocks of Paleartic migratory birds from the October to March of every year.

You will also have a chance to witness a few activities like fishing, which is done by the local people, some of which stay in the nearby village of Kasanje.

The tour can be combined with a visit to Entebbe where you can visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC), do a “behind-the-scene” activity at UWEC, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Victoria (e.g. to the Equator Line) or visit the Botanical Garden.

Jinja Day Excursion (full day tour)

This day tour will take you passed villages, forests, rapids and waterfalls, tea and sugarcane plantations and African markets.
You will start from Sentema in the early morning. Your first stopover will be Sezibwa falls Sezibwa derives its name from the phrase, “sizibwa kkubo” in the Luganda language which is translated “my way cannot be blocked or hindered” in English. From Sezibwa, the Jinja tour will lead you to Mabira forest. The forest offers hiking experiences through which birds, mammals and reptiles among other species can be spotted. After this, you will visit Jinja and the “source of the Nile” to finalize the 1 day Jinja tour, before returning to Sentema.

Jinja White Water Rafting Excursion (full day tour)

A real adventure awaits you on the river Nile near Jinja town in eastern Uganda. The rafting adventure leads you to Africa's capital of water sports – Jinja. You will start from Sentema in the early morning. Once you arrived in Jinja, you will be welcomed and briefed by a professional and experienced crew that will accompany you when your face the ultimate challenges of the mighty river Nile rushing down 5 grade rapids. 

At the end of your rafting experience (usually in the afternoon,) a tasty BBQ will await you at the shores of the Nile. Thereafter you will be transferred back to Sentema.

With the professional rafting equipment, safety boats and experienced kayakers, you will be in the best hands, when going on this adventure.

There is also the possibility for family floating trips and shorter/half day rafting experiences which usually takes in 2 and a half hours on the water crossing 4 water rapids while during a full-day water rafting you will cross 8 amazing rapids.
